Draw a steel plate and create your cutting file

Stek-Plaat is the drawing tool in Stek-Staal, for anyone who needs plates cut but has no CAD package. Draw the outline in the browser, add holes and bolt patterns, and send a ready-to-cut file to your steel supplier.

Included in every plan. Drawing is free with one trial export; exporting from Workshop up.

What you draw with it

Base plates and end plates

The plates you make most of: rectangular or with chamfered corners, with a bolt pattern you place in one go instead of hole by hole.

Gusset plates and bulkheads

Free outlines with angled edges. Dimensions update as you draw, so you notice a wrong measurement before the file leaves your desk.

Holes, slots and patterns

Round holes and slotted holes, placed individually or as a repeating pattern. Positions and centre distances in millimetres.

No CAD licence needed

Everything runs in the browser. No AutoCAD, no install, and you do not have to be a draughtsman to get a usable file out.

Your cutting file in three steps

From drawing to ready-to-cut file — without CAD and without detours.

  1. 1

    Draw your plate

Set the outline, thickness and material (S235, S355 or stainless). Add holes, slotted holes and bolt patterns — all to the millimetre.

  2. 2

    Check the dimensions

You get a dimensioned shop drawing straight away, with corner treatments, hole positions and unit weight.

  3. 3

    Export your cutting file

Download DXF, a 3D model (STEP), a dimensioned PDF and NC1 (DSTV) in one go. Ready to send to your steel supplier or cutter.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need AutoCAD or another drawing package?

No. Stek-Plaat runs entirely in the browser — no CAD licence and no drawing experience needed.

Which files do I get?

A DXF, a dimensioned PDF drawing, an NC1 (DSTV) file and a 3D model (STEP/.STP), bundled in one download.

Can my steel supplier cut from this?

As long as your supplier or cutter accepts DXF or DSTV. Check with your own supplier; we cannot speak for their machines.

What is an NC1/DSTV file?

DSTV is the structural steel standard that CNC cutting and drilling machines read. NC1 is the file extension it is delivered in.

How accurate is it?

Everything is drawn and exported to the millimetre.

Can I try it for free?

Yes. Drawing is free and unlimited, and you get one free trial export per account. After that you need a plan or a single export.
